NFL: Jaguars not ruling anything out after Lawrence fails to deliver again

The Jaguars are now 0-3 for the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson says he is leaving no stone unturned in a search for answers following his team’s 0-3 start to the season.

After a humbling 47-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, Pederson acknowledged that changes are needed, but he remained vague on what exactly those changes would be, particularly around quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Jaguars have been struggling on offense since their season opener against the Miami Dolphins.

Over the last 10 quarters, they have managed just 23 points and have only converted 5 of 27 third-down attempts.

Lawrence is now under heavy pressure having completed just 47.5% of his passes for 432 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, while being sacked 10 times.

Pederson said: “There has to be changes, whether it’s play design, personnel, everything.

“Everything’s on the table, let’s call it, and those are all things that I have to look at, we have to look at as a staff and make the adjustments.

“You say everything is on the table, we’ve got to take a look at injury.

“Tonight, we had some guys injured. Could be moved that way. Could be performance. It’s all things we have to evaluate as we move forward.

“This is who we are right now and it’s not very good.

“We have to be honest with ourselves and I’ve got to be honest with myself and just keep plugging away.”

“I’ve got to figure out a way to get more out of them, and it’s not more from practicing harder, longer.

“It’s just getting more, whether it’s leadership during games, how they address the team, whatever that looks like. Those are the things I got to figure out.”

Against the Bills, Lawrence completed 21 of 38 passes, extending his losing streak as a starter to eight games.

He hasn’t won a game in 302 days, dating back to a victory over the Houston Texans last season.

Lawrence added: “The quarterback has to play well every week to give yourself a shot to win.

“I don’t feel like I’ve done that consistently enough, so I put that on myself, and I’ve got to play better.”

Next up for the Jaguars is the Texans, the team Lawrence last beat as a starter.
