The Miami Dolphins will start with Tyler Huntley at quarterback for the Monday Night Football clash with the Tennessee Titans.
Huntley steps in following injuries to starter Tua Tagovailoa and back-up Skylar Thompson. He was signed from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad last week but will get an early chance to shine having been given the nod over Tim Boyle.
Coach Mike McDaniel said: “I think one thing that was supremely obvious to the team since he got here and even more so this practice week, is he [Huntley] has started multiple big games.
“Just understanding as a quarterback, what is required to win over teammates and take the place of somebody else and assert their own personality, their own skill set, their own traits within the offense and lead people.
“His maturation has been expedited by him and he’s done an excellent job assimilating into the locker room.”
The Dolphins come into the contest with a 1-2 record but will hope to improve that against a Titans side sitting on 0-3.
Brian Callahan’s tenure has not got off to a good start with basic errors hampering their play so far. But with an offense featuring DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, the Titans could turn things round at Hard Rock Stadium.
