LA Lakers: LeBron and Bronny partnership will have to wait – perhaps till Sunday

LeBron and Bronny James could appear together for the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday

LeBron and Bronny James

Bronny James could play for the Los Angeles Lakers in their preseason opener tonight but he is unlikely to line up alongside his father LeBron.

LeBron is expected to be held out of the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and will instead play against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

Bronny was selected 55th overall by the Lakers in the 2024 NBA Draft and has impressed in Summer League play.

The 19-year-old said: “Of course, there are nerves. Comes with everything.

“But I’m just excited to go out there and learn and learn from the people playing in front of me. And if I get a chance to showcase my game, then I’m going to do that to the best of my ability.”

LeBron was a regular at Bronny’s games at school and in college, providing advice for his son from courtside that has seemingly served him well.

And Bronny is expecting nothing different when he does make his Lakers bow.

“Pretty much the same thing but now we’re teammates,” Bronny said. “So, it’s going to be more in-depth talk about the game and stuff like that. So yeah, I’m ready for it.”
