Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson tears Achilles – report

Browns QB Watson done for the season

Deshaun Watson

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his right Achilles in Sunday’s game with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Watson fell to the ground after attempting to carry the ball on the first play after the two-minute warning in the first half. He was carried off the field on a cart and was visibly emotional as his team-mates gathered round.

Rapoport reported the 29-year-old had torn his Achilles and would miss the rest of the season and beyond.

It’s another chapter in a miserable season for Watson, whose name was booed by frustrated Browns fans prior to the start of the game. He ends his season having completed just 61.3 per cent of his passes for five touchdowns, three interceptions and a career-low 5.1 yards per attempt.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson replaced Watson but it may be coach Kevin Stefanski turns to Jameis Winston for the remainder of the campaign.
