The Golden State Warriors are facing a nervous wait over the fitness of star guard Stephen Curry after he limped out of their defeat to the LA Clippers yesterday.
Curry was due to undergo an MRI on his left ankle last night and, although Warriors coach Steve Kerr described the injury as “mild”, there will be concern given the 36-year-old’s history of issues with that particular joint.
Curry shot 6-of-11 for 18 points but twisted his ankle towards the end of the third quarter. After treatment on the sideline, he checked back in four minutes into the final quarter but lasted seconds before pulling up again.
NO WAY. STEPHEN.

This time he went straight to the locker room, and did not return.
Kerr said: “He’s doing OK. He used the word ‘mild’ or ‘moderate’.
“He’s obviously sprained that ankle many times before. He doesn’t think it’s too bad, but it’s a concern.”
Kerr bullish that Warriors can cope
Kerr, whose side lost 112-104 – their first defeat of the season, believes the Warriors will cope without their main three-point threat.
He told ESPN: “I feel more comfortable that we can withstand an absence offensively without Steph because of [our] depth.”
Andrew Wiggins is the most likely man to step up after scoring 29 points against the Clippers.
“Wiggs is off to a great start and had a great night,” Kerr said. “He’s an obvious candidate to get the ball more. But we’ve got a deep team. We’ve got a lot of guys who can play. We will be ready.”
