The New York Jets scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to end a five-game losing streak by beating the Houston Texans 21-13.
Garrett Wilson made a dazzling one-handed touchdown catch and quarterback Aaron Rodgers had three touchdown passes as the Jets (3-6) won for the first time under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.
Wilson’s stunning catch was initially called an incomplete pass, but a video replay review confirmed that Wilson’s shin was down in the end zone and a touchdown was called to give the Jets a 14-10 lead with 12:54 left.
“I felt like I put it in a pretty decent spot, but yeah, I didn’t do a whole lot when it comes down to it,” Rodgers said.

“I just kind of lobbed one up there and he made an unbelievable catch. When I saw the replay, it looked like he had his knee in and I thought, shoot, let’s throw the challenge and Brick [Ulbrich] was already in front of me throwing it.”
Rodgers finished 22 of 32 for 211 yards. His 37-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams, who earlier was cleared after being checked for a possible head injury, was Adams’ first touchdown catch since being acquired from Las Vegas earlier this month.
Ka’imi Fairbairn made a 29-yard field goal with 39 seconds left to make it an eight-point game, but Adams recovered the onside kick and the Jets were able to take a knee and seal the win.
Texans quarterback CJ Stroud was sacked eight times on a sorry evening.
“It’s embarrassing to come out here in a prime-time game and get embarrassed like that is never fun,” Stroud said. “We have to be better in a lot of areas, and that starts with me. There are plays I’ve got to make, throws I’ve got to make.
“If we want to win, this is not the recipe for it. We’ve got to learn how to dominate and stop learning to just go with the flow.”
