Pop star Beyonce has announced she will perform during the NFL’s half-time show when the Houston Texans host the Baltimore Ravens on Netflix on Christmas Day.

The 43-year-old, who was born in Houston, revealed the news in a clip showing her standing on top of a car holding an American football, released on social media alongside the NFL, Netflix and the Texans.

The show will include Beyonce’s first live performances of tracks from her latest album, Cowboy Carter, which came out in March and has been nominated for Album of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

When is Beyonce’s Christmas halftime show?

The game between the teams starts at 4.30pm ET or 9.30pm GMT on December 25 at the NRG Stadium, which has a retractable roof and a capacity of more than 72,000.

Each of the four quarters in an NFL contest is scheduled to last 15 minutes but breaks in play tend to mean half-time takes place significantly longer than 30 minutes after play begins.

Half-time is scheduled to last 12 minutes but that can be extended for major events. When Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars starred in the Super Bowl 50 show in 2016, the performance lasted more than 13 minutes.

That was one of the most watched Super Bowl mid-game spectacles of all time, reportedly attracting more than 115 million viewers.

“Although the details of her performance are under wraps, Beyonce is expected to feature some special guests who are on the Cowboy Carter album,” Netflix said.

Beyonce, who also performed at the 2013 Super Bowl, featured fellow chart-toppers including Miley Cyrus and Post Malone on the record.

Netflix NFL games: How to watch Beyonce

Netflix said in May that it had reached an agreement to broadcast NFL games until 2026. In its first game on the same day, the Kansas City Chiefs meet the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 PM ET (6pm GMT).

The platform is available to stream on a vast range of devices, while the games will also be available on US mobile devices with NFL+ and shown on broadcast TV in the competing team cities.

On Friday, Netflix showed live boxing for the first time when social media superstar Jake Paul fought heavyweight icon Mike Tyson.

The bout was widely considered underwhelming but the platform said 60 million households had streamed it worldwide.
