The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Los Angeles Rams 28-22 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to advance to the team’s third NFC Championship Game since the start of the 2017 season. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed how his squad was able to overcome mistakes and hardships to pull out the victory.

“We found a way in the midst of adversity. We embraced the adversity” he said during Philadelphia’s post-game press conference. “We played championship defense. It takes everybody… and we’re excited to move on. All that did was make us hungry to keep going.”

Sirianni then explained how the snowy weather conditions impacted the Eagles’ game plan.

“It affects it, especially as the field continues to gather snow. I think it neutralizes things,” he elaborated. “It has an effect on the game. We were able to protect the ball, and we were able to force some turnovers in the midst of it… Of course that plays a part in it, but everything plays a part in it. That’s why we take advantage of when we can go outside and be out there in the elements because every little thing matters. The conditions got sloppy today, we all had to play in it, and we found a way.”

Sirianni then highlighted the outstanding play of running back Saquon Barkley who ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns.

“Given the conditions, or not in the conditions, it doesn’t matter, it’s a luxury to have him, that’s for darn sure” Sirianni chuckled. “I can’t say enough good things about him and the leadership he brings to this football team. He’s special”

Sirianni then took another opportunity to once again praise Philly’s defense.

“That was a championship effort by the defense, and we earned the right to play for a championship – the NFC Championship – this week against a really good football team,” he said.

Up next, the Eagles will face off against the Washington Commanders for the third time this season with a trip to Super Bowl LIX on the line.
