Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has expressed the need to improve if the Detroit Lions are to meet their Super Bowl aspirations.
The Lions secured their ninth consecutive win after a loss and have not lost back-to-back games since 2022, beating the Arizona Cardinals 20-13.
St. Brown led the team with seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Speaking after the game, the Lions star said: “Our defense is playing great. I feel like we, as an offence, got to put more points on the board.
“I know it sounds kind of crazy, but we feel like as an offense, 20 points is nice, but in that type of game we’ve got to put up [more]… It’s nice to get a win, but we feel like as an offense we can get a lot better.
“A lot of room for improvement and we will get better. I don’t think we’re too worried, but we’ve got to keep improving.”

He added: “What I know of this team and what we know of each other is very much intact, and we’re a pretty resilient group, and that’ll always be part of who we are, I believe.”
Despite the team’s resilience after coming back to beat the LA Rams in Week 1, the Lions’ offence has yet to really hit its stride, averaging 20.7 points per game through the first three weeks.
During their Week 2 loss to Tampa Bay, the Lions struggled in the Redzone, converting just 1 of 7 opportunities.
It was their worst red zone performance since 1981. However, against the Cardinals, they bounced back, with touchdowns from running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.
In 2023, Detroit boasted one of the league’s top offences, averaging 27.12 points per game, which helped propel them to the NFC Championship Game.
But after Sunday’s victory, Lions players in the locker room acknowledged there was still plenty of room for growth.

Veteran quarterback Jared Goff completed 18 of 23 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns but also threw his fourth interception of the season, more than he had through three games in any season of his career.
Goff praised the team’s ability to adapt and win in various ways, particularly the defensive side of things.
He said: “I think it is resiliency and the ability to adapt, too, and [to] play different kinds of games, win in different ways, and that was always our way last year as well.
“I know the way Dan [Campbell] wants to be is multiple, have the ability to win it through the air, through the ground and by our defence. Today was kind of a combination of all that.”
