Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has told his teammates not to be affected by “outside noise” after boos rang out following their 10th straight defeat.
Supporters called for the team to be sold after Seattle Seahawks won 6-3 at Soldier Field on Thursday in a game that also featured the lowest points in a winning result in their opponents’ history.
“This is my first year – their frustrations go way longer back than I’ve been here,” said Williams. “My job is to go out there and win games.
“We don’t focus on the outside noise. The fans are going to cheer and, maybe, boo sometimes, and you can’t react to that. We have a job to do; some days you don’t do so well at the job, some days you play a great game.”

Bears vs Seahawks
The Bears (4-12) must now win at the Green Bay Packers (11-4) on January 5 to avoid losing more than 10 straight games in a single season for the first time.
They lost their final 10 games two years ago as part of a run of 14 defeats that continued into the following season and is the worst in their history.
“We played special teams and defence pretty well, but in offence we didn’t play well: there were miscues, there were stupid sacks I was taking,” said Williams.
“I will definitely take the heat for this one because some of the situations I put us in… got to be better. I’ll probably be frustrated until after I get a chance to watch it.
“I didn’t play well enough and I didn’t put the team in a good position to win, a better position to win.”

Thomas Brown: Bears ‘have one more crack’
Field goals from Jason Myers in the first and second quarters, two Leonard Williams sacks and Riq Woolen’s crucial interception of Caleb Williams’ late pass kept the Seahawks’ slender playoff hopes intact.
Interim head coach Thomas Brown echoed Williams’ views and criticised his own gameplan for his team. “I asked that all three phases play their best together at one time,” he said.
“Special teams played extremely well, defence played their butts off all night. The offence was not good enough, which starts with me as far as the gameplan I had, having these guys ready to go.
“We’ll have a couple of days off, have a chance to regroup and have one more crack at it. It wasn’t good enough – put it on me.”
