Raiders trade Davante Adams to Jets after months of speculation – reports

Adams is in line to reunite with Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets

NFL player Davante Adams

The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly set to complete the trade of star wide receiever Davante Adams to the New York Jets.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport says the Raiders are closing on an agreement for Adams’ departure after intense speculation over his desire to leave Sin City.

Rapoport says the Jets will recieve a third-round draft back which could become a second-round pick.

The news comes days after the Jets suffered a disappointing 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills which saw them drop to 2-4 in the season, with Adams absent as the Raiders were beaten 32-13 by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The move sees the 31-year-old reunite with quarter-back Aaron Rodgers, with the duo enjoying years of success together with the Green Bay Packers.

Adams played his first eight NFL seasons with Rodgers, during which he was selected to five Pro Bowls and was a two-time first-team All-Pro.

He joined the Raiders in 2022, becoming a first-team All Pro once again as he now ends a two-year spell in Vegas.

The six-time Pro Bowl member has been limited to just three games this season due to a hamstring injury and has not featured since September 22.

Rodgers: ‘I can’t wait to play with Adams again’

Adams’ reported QB once again Rodgers has spoken glowingly of the wide reciever during their time apart.

The most telling comment came in July when the 40-year-old was asked about Adams at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe.

Rodgers said: “I love Davante Adams. I can’t wait to play with him … again.”
