Deion Sanders has distanced himself from speculation linking him with the Dallas Cowboys by insisting he is happy at the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders, who won two Super Bowls with the Cowboys in the 1990s, has been talked up for a return with incumbent Mike McCarthy in the final year of his contract and currently presiding over a disappointing season that sees Dallas struggling with a 3-7 record.
In contrast, the 8-2 Buffaloes are flying. They have already doubled their win total from 2023 and two more triumphs will put them in the Big 12 title game.

‘I’ve got a kickstand’
Sanders’ son Shedeur has played a crucial role at quarterback in their success, as has wide receiver Travis Hunter, and Sanders Snr says he is in no rush to leave.
He said: “I’m happy where I am, man. I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is?
“That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”
His team is dominated by freshmen and Sanders wants to stick around to watch them mature together.
He added: “It says a lot about what we plan on being and the stability that we’re going to be here for a while. We ain’t going nowhere. We’re about to get comfortable.”
The rumours of Sanders moving back to Dallas accelerated on Tuesday when former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin said sources had told him Deion would “100 per cent” take the job providing they also drafted Shedeur.
“I can tell you, good sources have told me that,” Irvin told the Herd Show. “Great sources have told me that.”

Smith believes Dallas should tank the rest of the season
ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith also believes Sanders would be a good fit for the Cowboys, even calling on them to tank the rest of the season to secure the No. 1 draft pick and use it on Shedeur.
Smith told Paul Finebaum: “To me, Prime Time Deion Sanders is the Coach of the Year, I’m thinking about Travis Hunter as a leading candidate for the Heisman and I’m gonna take it a step further. Are you ready for this, Paul? I’m gonna make people very, very uncomfortable.
“I believe that the Dallas Cowboys should tank the rest of the season, get the No. 1 overall pick so you can draft Shedeur Sanders, and by the way, hire Prime Time Deion Sanders as your head coach for the Dallas Cowboys. I think that should be Jerry Jones’ master plan.
“That’s right. I said it. Hire Prime Time Deion Sanders, you gotta tank the season to make sure you can get his son as your quarterback. OK, and you move forward that way.”
