NFL: Giants’ Lawrence keen to end unwanted run against Cowboys

The Giants and Cowboys face off in the NFL this weekend.

Dexter Lawrence of the New York Giants

New York Giants tackle Dexter Lawrence is looking to end the side’s sackless run against the Dallas Cowboys this week.

The last time Giants managed to sack a Cowboys quarterback was on December 19, 2021.

Since that moment, the Giants have faced the Cowboys four more times without recording a single sack.

However, ahead of their upcoming match, Lawrence believes that’s about to change.

He said: “That’s going to change.

“I feel like we can get after him pretty good. We just got to hone in on the plan and execute it well.”

If the Giants are to break their sack drought against Dallas, Lawrence will likely play a critical role in making it happen.

He is coming off one of the best performances of his career in the Giants’ Week 3 victory against the Cleveland Browns.

He recorded two sacks, including a pivotal stop on a fourth down late in the game.

“I’m sick of losing to anybody,” Lawrence added.

“I don’t hold more weight on one game than the other. They all hit the same. They all count the same.

“I want to win regardless. It doesn’t matter against who or how we win. I just want to win.”

The Giants spent the offseason building their roster to better compete with the dominant offensive lines in the NFL.

But, as mentioned by Lawrence, pressure on Prescott is one thing; bringing him down is another challenge entirely.

He added: “He’s a big dude. He can run.

“He likes to sit in the pocket, but when he evades, he’s also dynamic throwing the ball down the field.

“We just have to make sure we keep him in the pocket and bring him down.”
