A new Netflix documentary has promised to show a side of Aaron Rodgers that “few get to see” in an announcement hours before the New York Jets quarterback makes his anticipated injury comeback in the Monday Night Football NFL game.
Enigmatic Rodgers is expected to feature when the Jets face the San Francisco 49ers (8.15pm ET/1.15am BST), marking his return after a year out.
Now 40, Rodgers tore his left Achilles tendon in his first game of the 2023 season and has not played since for the team he joined in April 2023.

“Game-day plays and press conferences can only reveal a small part of the four-time MVP’s story,” the makers of the three-episode documentary, titled Enigma, said.
In a trailer for the series, Rodgers is seen speaking about his sport while his bandaged leg is raised and held by a pair of hands in a chair opposite.
“Listen, I believe in the power of prayer and intention,” he says. “From the night this happened, hours after that, I was surrounded by a bunch of really special people in my life. We just laid down a lot of prayers.”

Rodgers, who joined the Jets after 17 years with the Green Bay Packers, has become better known for his pronouncements about extra-curricular topics.
In one of those, shortly after he was sidelined, Rodgers challenged Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to a debate about Covid vaccines.
The month before his fateful season started, Rodgers had said he regretted remarks in which he appeared to suggest he was immunised from the virus.
