Harbaugh explained to reporters after the NFL clash that paramedics treated him in the locker room, where he underwent an electrocardiogram.
The medical team were able to restore his heart to a normal rhythm, allowing him to return to the sideline later and coach for the rest of the game.
Harbaugh admitted that this wasn’t the first time he had dealt with a similar issue during a game.

He recounted an episode in 2012 when he was coaching the San Francisco 49ers against the Chicago Bears.
In that instance, Harbaugh felt his heart beating irregularly but continued coaching before seeking medical attention afterwards.
In 2012, doctors were unable to get his heart back into a normal rhythm, which led to an ablation procedure.
It is a treatment used to correct heart arrhythmias by destroying the tissue responsible for the irregular heartbeat.
Harbaugh also mentioned that he had undergone a similar procedure back in 1999.
Many of the players, including quarterback Justin Herbert, were unaware of Harbaugh’s brief absence or his heart issue.

Herbert only found out when a reporter asked him about it during the postgame press conference.
He said: “He’s tough. He did a really good job of hiding that then because I was unaware of it. They did a good job of keeping calm. I hope he’s OK. Is he all right?”
Harbaugh later mentioned that he had felt discomfort the night before the game but didn’t give it much thought.
It wasn’t until the pre-game warmups that he noticed his heart was beating irregularly, prompting him to alert the medical staff early in the first quarter.
