Green Bay Packers quarterback says he has nowhere to hide after being handed a massive extension that will see him become one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Love penned a four-year $220million contract that included a $75m signing bonus.

He is now under pressure to deliver and follow in the footsteps of Aaron Rodgers but he says he is ready for the task ahead.

Speaking at the team’s training camp, he said: “Being a first-round pick, there’s pressure.

“Becoming the starter, there’s pressure, but there’s always pressure. I think that’s, you know, part of the job that we sign up for.

“You’ve got to find ways to deal with that pressure and handle it as best you can to be the best player you can be every day.

“But there’s always pressure. There’s no hiding that. … I’ve been in some great pressure situations, so I think there’s always going to be that.

“But just finding a way to navigate through this and handle it best I can.”

Love’s new deal puts him joint top of the earners’ chart alongside Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.

He has only had one full season as a starter in Green Bay having spent three seasons as backup to Rodgers.

But he finished the 2024 season with 18 touchdowns and only one interception in eight games to lead the Packers into the play-offs.

It was not a Super Bowl-winning year in the end, but the Packers are expected to be a top contender in 2025.

General manager Brian Gutekunst added: “Seeing how he handled that this past year becoming the guy, handling that pressure, coming out the other side of it, just gave us a lot of confidence that this is the guy that’s going to lead us into the future.”

As the face of the franchise, Love will have to step up every week.

It will not be an easy road for the QB, but there is no doubting the 25-year-old is one to watch going forward.
