There was plenty of action going on in Week 5 of the NFL season

Aaron Rodgers

Week 5 of the NFL saw plenty of drama with six matches taking place at the same time, and one early game in the international series, as teams looked to build on good starts or turn momentum in their favour.

The Minnesota Vikings were hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, while the Jacksonville Jaguars were looking to pick up their first victory this term.

Read on to see what happened in every early game on NFL Sunday.

Vikings 23-17 Jets

The Minnesota Vikings made it 5-0 for the season with victory over the New York Jets in the earlier kick-off at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

More than 61,000 fans packed into the London venue – the most for any sporting fixture in the UK over the weekend – to witness the Vikings maintain their unbeaten start.

They raced into a 17-0 lead before the Jets mounted a thrilling comeback.

But with 49 seconds remaining and with the Jets edging towards the Vikings’ endzone, Aaron Rodgers, who turns 41 in December, was intercepted for the third time in the game, allowing Minnesota, one of just two teams still undefeated in the NFL this term, to hold on for the win.

Bears 36-10 Panthers

The Chicago Bears were resounding 36-10 winners over Carolina to go 3-2 for the season.

Rookie and No.1 pick Caleb Williams threw two touchdowns and 304 yards as the Bears dominated the game and inflict a fourth defeat of the campaign on the Panthers.

Commanders 34-13 Browns

The Washington Commanders ran out comfortable winners over the Cleveland Browns.

Jayden Daniels threw for 283 yards as the Commanders scored four touchdowns to surge to a resounding victory and make it 4-1 for the season.

Jordan Akins scored little more than a consolation 10-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter but it was too little too late for the Browns.

Patriots 10-15 Dolphins

Ahead of their bye in Week 6, the Miami Dolphins ended a run of three straight defeats with a 15-10 win over the New England Patriots.

Jason Sanders scored three field goals at the Gillette Stadium as the Dolphins came back in the second half to extend the Patriots winless streak to four matches.

Jaguars 37-34 Colts

Cam Little scored a 49-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining to ensure the Jacksonville Jaguars picked up their first win of the season.

In a nail-biting encounter, Trevor Lawrence threw 371 yards, including two touchdowns, for Jacksonville, while Joe Flacco threw 359 yards and three touchdowns for the Colts.

Bengals 38-41 Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens made it three wins on the bounce with a dramatic overtime victory against the Cincinnati Bengals.

A thrilling encounter saw impressive performances from both QBs, as Joe Burrow threw five touchdowns and 392 yards for the Bengals, while Lamar Jackson threw 348 yards and four touchdowns for the Ravens.

The Bengals missed a field goal to win the game before Baltimore’s Justin Tucker scored a 24-yard field goal to ensure victory for the Ravens, who go 3-2 for the season.

Texans 23-20 Bills

The Houston Texans made it 4-1 for the season following a narrow victory over the Buffalo Bills, courtesy of another impressive performance from CJ Stroud.

The highly-rated QB again showcased his talents, throwing 331 yards, including one touchdown.

The Bills’ Josh Allen also threw for one but only managed 131 yards in the game.
