The former New York Jets star was released after failing to impress.

Veteran NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers could end up joining the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2025-26 season.

Rodgers, now a free agent for the first time in his career, visited the Steelers’ practice facility for approximately six hours on Friday.

During the visit, Rodgers engaged in discussions with the team’s coaching staff in what was described as a productive meeting.

Both parties agreed to maintain communication moving forward, as the Steelers look to elevate their offense and Rodgers searches for a new team.

Rodgers became a potential target for the Steelers nearly two weeks ago as negotiations opened ahead of the official free agency period.

While both the Steelers and the New York Giants have extended offers, the Minnesota Vikings are also thought to be a contender for his services.

However, Minnesota appears to be shifting focus toward J.J. McCarthy, their 2024 first-round draft selection, as their starting quarterback, reducing the likelihood of them pursuing Rodgers.

Rodgers was officially released by the New York Jets on March 12 after failing to make the play-offs.

The 41-year-old is an icon of the sport but since leaving the Green Bay Packers has failed to replicate the success of Tom Brady, who moved from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won the Super Bowl.

Following a dismal season despite bringing star wide receiver Davante Adams, Rodgers and the Jets, the New York franchise have decided to rebuild without the man they brought in to bring success.

But Rodgers only has a limited time left in his career, so whichever team does pick him up will be taking a big risk.
