Victor Wembanyama became the fourth-youngest player to score 50 points in an NBA game as he inspired the San Antonio Spurs to a 139-130 win over the Washington Wizards.

Frenchman Wembanyama, 20, placed his name alongside Brandon Jennings, LeBron James and Devin Booker with his stunning haul on Wednesday night.

The Spurs centre reached his 50-point total in just 26 minutes, while he also his another career milestone with eight three-pointers.

“I’d love to tell you that you wake up a certain way or you feel really smooth during warm-ups, but at the end of the day, in NBA games we got one game every other day,” said Wenbanyama, who wasthe first overall pick in last year’s draft.

“So every time we struggle to warm up, we have pain, you know, we sweat, we bleed on the court, so it’s really a minute-to-minute thing, it comes to 48 minutes every game.”

Milwaukee Bucks 127-120 Detroit Pistons

Giannis Antetokounmpo hit a season-high 59 points as the Milwaukee Bucks needed overtime to beat the Detroit Pistons 127-120.

The two-time MVP enjoyed the ninth 50-plus haul of his career and his second best ever after scoring 64 against the Indiana Pacers last season.

Cleveland Cavaliers continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 114-106 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Cavs became only the sixth team to start the season 13-0 with Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell scoring 25 and 23 points respectively.

La Lakers 128-123 Memphis Grizzlies

LeBron James made more NBA history with his third conescutive triple-double as the LA Lakers maintained their unbeaten home record with a 128-123 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

James finished with 35 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds.
