Lionel Messi showed off Inter Miami’s new third kit as part Major League Soccer’s new retro-inspired collection.
Tuesday marked a year since the eight-time Ballon d’Or arrived in the Sunshine State and to celebrate, the Argentina icon was pictured in Inter’s stylish new third strip.
MLS have released a number of vintage jerseys as part of their Archive Collection, which aim to give a nostalgic look back at teams’ history and their city.
Inter’s acqua edition draws inspiration from NFL side Miami Dolphins, who share the US city with Messi and Co, while the aesthetic taps into the city’s style and ‘Miami Vice’ aesthetic.

The marketing text said: “Tapping into 1980s nostalgia, Inter Miami’s archive kit leans heavily on the vibrancy of vintage Miami style.
“Drawing on the nostalgic look of sports broadcasting, advertising, magazines and catalogs, the Archive Collection combines different visual languages to create a unique narrative.
“By celebrating the past while also staying relevant to the next generation of fans, the collection is not just a throwback, the vintage aesthetic and authentic details pay homage to the greatness that never fades.”
LA Galaxy, LAFC, Portland Timbers and Sporting Kansas City have also released throwback shirts as part of the collection.
