Brazil fell to their fourth loss in five World Cup qualifying matches after being downed by Paraguay away from home.
The Selecao were undone by Inter Miami’s Diego Gomez, who netted the winner just 20 minutes into the game.
Brazil did not even register a shot on target in the first half, despite having the likes of Vinicius Junior, Bruno Guimaraes and Lucas Paqueta all starting.
The result leaves the five-time world champions fifth in the South American qualifying group, with only three wins from eight games.
Vinicius himself issued an apologies to the fans and says he is trying his best when wearing the famous yellow shirt.
Speaking to Brazilian TV channel Globo, he said: “I want to apologize to the fans, I know it’s a difficult time, but we just want to improve.

“I know my potential, what I can do for the national team.
“Of course, it’s been a very complicated process because when you don’t have confidence, you don’t get goals.”
Manager Dorival Jr was only appointed in January 2024 but has not been living up to the high expectations in Brazil.
His side were knocked out of the recent Copa America in the quarter-finals and they are now on the back foot when it comes to qualifying for the World Cup.
Defender Marquinhos came to the defence of his boss though, saying: ”
T”he coach is still figuring out the best way for us to play and that’s reflected in the result.
“There are a lot of new players, we are lacking confidence.
“Qualifying isn’t easy, it’s a difficult time and we have to know how to manage it. It’s a time of transition, we’re not feeling confident.
“We’re going to work hard, getting results on the pitch is the best answer.”
