Luis Suarez will continue showcasing his talents in Major League Soccer, after the star forward signed a one-year contract extension with Inter Miami.

This new deal ensures his presence alongside Lionel Messi in Florida through at least the 2025 season.

Suarez’s extension adds further excitement to Inter Miami’s growing contingent of former Barcelona stars.

The announcement comes just a day after Javier Mascherano was named the team’s new head coach.

Inter, now dubbed the “Stateside Camp Nou,” already features Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, all of whom enjoyed illustrious careers alongside Suarez during their time in La Liga.

Suarez said: “I’m very happy, very excited to continue for another year and to be able to enjoy being here with this fanbase, which for us is like family.

“We feel very, very connected with them, and hopefully, next year, we can bring them even more joy.

Before joining Inter Miami, Suarez spent two seasons playing in South America with Nacional and Gremio, following a 16-year career in European football that spanned some of the continent’s top clubs.

He made his mark at Ajax, Liverpool, and Atletico Madrid before cementing his legacy with a trophy-laden stint at Barcelona, where he formed a fearsome attacking trio with Messi and Neymar.

Suarez retired from international football earlier this year as Uruguay’s all-time leading scorer.
