Sorare Ligue 1 football preview: Stade Rennais vs LOSC Lille

Sorare sign-up offer – Compete for Epic Rewards

A Stade Rennais outfit eyeing a return to winning ways will act as hosts this weekend, when they welcome LOSC Lille to Roazhon Park for a Ligue 1 clash.

Rennes, for their part, have enjoyed a solid-if-unspectacular opening to the season, following up an opening day drubbing of Metz with a trio of successive draws.

Lille, meanwhile, have put a point more on the board, owing in large part to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Montpellier last time out.

The two sides, in turn, find themselves separated by a single place in the table, ahead of the return of French football on the back of the international break.

The matchup will be part of Gameweek 407 on Sorare Football, and 101 Great Goals has broken down the key statistical takeaways ahead of the game.

Stade Rennais vs LOSC Lille Sorare tips

Stade Rennais

Benjamin Bourigeaud

Midfielder Bourigeaud, after enjoying a fine start to the term, has since been brought largely back down to earth over the course of the last couple of weeks. After starring with an assist en route to an opening day thrashing of Metz, he followed up with a crucial goal against Lens, too. The 29-year-old has since failed to hit such heights in Rennes’ last two, as evidenced by Sorare scores of 49 and 36. But Bourigeaud, on his day, remains a talented performer, and could well be in line for a bounce-back showing on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Mandanda

Amine Gouiri

Like Bourigeaud, teammate Gouiri is another Rennes star to have enjoyed a productive start to the campaign, which has since tapered off to at least some degree. The gifted wide-man marked the opening weekend with a goal, but has since failed to notch either a goal or assist since. Nevertheless, he has impressed, in particular en route to his side’s 2-2 home stalemate with Le Havre. A player capable of producing moments of magic at will, Gouiri is something of a wildcard option, but one who could pay off in a major way if firing on all cylinders.

LOSC Lille

Jonathan David

The star of the show in a talented Lille side, Jonathan David will have his sights set on yet more goals at Roazhon Park this weekend. After setting a new personal benchmark courtesy of 24 league goals last time out, the Canadian international has since followed up with a further two in four this time round, most recently bagging a consolation in a 4-1 defeat at Lorient late last month. David’s numbers, frankly, speak for themselves, making him a dependable attacking option for your Sorare side.

Yusuf Yazici

After finding himself in and out of the Lille XI over the early weeks of the term, Yusuf Yazici, in his most recent outing, looks likely to have done enough to secure a 2nd successive starting berth this weekend. This comes after the set-piece specialist proved himself match-winner, bagging the only goal of the game en route to a 1-0 victory over Montpellier. Still, he remains something of a risky pick, but one, like Gouiri above, with the potential to pay off in a big way.

Leny Yoro

Last up on the Lille side of things comes up-and-coming talent Leny Yoro. For those not familiar with his name, Yoro is a central defender who, despite being just 17 years of age, has already established himself as a key figure in the first-team ranks at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. His ability on the ball makes the stopper a hugely enticing prospect, and potentially valuable Sorare addition. Most recently, Yoro impressed to the tune of 66 points, in guiding his side to a crucial clean sheet at home to Montpellier.
