Best Sorare players in the Premier League Gameweek 399

Tottenham picked up the first win of the Ange Postecoglou era on Saturday with a deserved 2-0 win over Manchester United at home in what was another disjointed display from Erik ten Hag’s side, while Manchester City picked up another win over Newcastle.

Julian Alvarez scored the only goal of the game and they were unlucky not to add more against a Newcastle side some way off the heights they hit in their win over Aston Villa last week, while Brentford and Brighton also picked up eye-catching wins.

Perhaps the performance of the weekend came as West Ham pinched three points off Chelsea with a 3-1 win at the London Stadium, despite the visitors dominating for large periods of the game.

Each week 101 Great Goals will look at the best performing players in each position in Sorare Premier League to give you an insight into which players might be worth considering as we head into the next gameweek.

Goalkeeper

Guglielmo Vicario – 86

The successor to Hugo Lloris at Spurs was never going to be a straightforward task. Lloris had a habit for high-profile errors but was club captain for a long time and Vicario was the man tasked with taking over from the former number one this summer. Despite conceding two against Brentford on debut, he made a very encouraging home debut against Manchester United with a clean sheet including a string of fine saves from close range to get himself off to the best possible start on home turf.

  • General: 0
  • Goalkeeping: 23
  • Possession: 2.5
  • Attack: 0
  • Decisive: 60

Defender

William Saliba – 100

Since arriving in the Premier League, Saliba has established himself as one of the best central defenders around, and his absence through injury was keenly felt in the run-in last season. Back fit and firing in this campaign, he has been preferred to Gabriel to partner Ben White at the back and has repaid Mikel Arteta with two faultless displays. Having scored 79 in the opener against Nottingham Forrest, he notched a perfect 100 against Crystal Palace on Monday thanks in large part to his last man tackle to help preserve another clean sheet.

Brody’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 12
  • Defence: 7
  • Possession: 21.2
  • Attack: 0.5
  • Decisive: 60

Midfielder

Solly March – 100

March has been one of the real winners from Roberto De Zerbi’s stunning start at Brighton. The versatile midfielder finished with a career best 14 goal involvements last season – seven goals and seven assists – and has picked up where he left off this season. He already has three goals to his name and was in stunning form in the easy win over Wolves. With Gareth Southgate in attendance, it would be no surprise to see him named in the next England squad and his value could rocket.

March’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 3.5
  • Defence: 7
  • Possession: 12.6
  • Attack: 16.5
  • Decisive: 70

Forward

Bryan Mbeumo – 82

Mbeumo’s stock has never been higher, with the Brentford forward filling the void left by Ivan Toney with three goals in two games to start the season. It helps that he has inherited penalty-taking duties from the banned England striker but his link-up play with Yoane Wissa has made him a must-have in FPL and Sorare teams early this season. He netted twice – once from the spot and another tap-in – in the 3-0 win over Brentford and is picking up from where he left off last season.

Mbeumo’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 1
  • Defence: 0
  • Possession: -1.7
  • Attack: 12.5
  • Decisive: 70
