Gameweek 373: Sorare Bundesliga top performers

Borussia Dortmund took a huge step towards deposing Bayern Munich for the first time in a decade after a shock 3-1 defeat at home to RB Leipzig saw Dortmund go two points clear with just a game to go.

Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern gave up a one-goal lead to suffer the 3-1 humiliation that leaves plenty of questions to be asked amid a first missed title since 2011/12, while at the other end of the table Stuttgart climbed out of the bottom three with a big win away at Mainz.

Each week 101 Great Goals will look at the best performing players in each position in Sorare Bundesliga to give you an insight into which players might be worth considering as we head into the next gameweek.

Goalkeeper

Mark Flekken – 76

Freiburg kept alive their hopes of a top four spot with a win over Wolfsburg that means they are level on points with Union Berlin going into the last gameweek, and it was a welcome return to form for keeper Flekken. After a good run of form that had seen him score 62, 53, 72, 72 and 49, Flekken scored a 0 in GW 371 as they lost to Union, but he was back to his best in scoring a 76 this weekend. His passing out from the back was a key feature of his play along with the two shots saved from inside the box.

Flekken’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 0
  • Goalkeeping: 12.5
  • Possession: 1.2
  • Attack: 2
  • Decisive: 60

Defender

Niklas Sule – 79

Dortmund’s fourth win in five saw them overtake Bayern with just a week of the regular season to go, and it was another fine performance from former Bayern defender Sule. His scores have been steadily improving over the last few weeks, culminating in scores of 67, 73 and now 79 to give him an L5 of 65 as Dortmund kept a clean sheet against Augsburg. Dortmund enjoyed the majority of possession and Sule was crucial to that, completing 80 passes and 21 passes in the final third to contribute towards a high possession score, while he was also a threat at the other end and missed one big chance, as well as attempting three assists.

  • General: 8
  • Defence: 4
  • Possession: 27.6
  • Attack: 4.5
  • Decisive: 35

Midfielder

Konrad Laimer – 100

Despite Bayern dominating possession as you’d expect them to against RB Leipzig, Laimer was the best player on the pitch as he scored a perfect 100 from the visiting midfield. Laimer scored the equaliser – his 64th minute strike cancelling out Serge Gnabry’s opener – and while he did not contribute in other ways you would expect from a midfielder – he only made 20 accurate passes – he was crucial in winning the ball back in duels with seven tackles won in defence and 13 separate duels won. An uncompromising midfielder, Laimer has contributed less in front of goal and creatively this season which would explain his L15 of 50.

Laimer’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 5
  • Defence: 20
  • Possession: 13.5
  • Attack: 12
  • Decisive: 60

Forward

Sebastien Haller – 80

Haller has had a very tough season after moving to Dortmund owing to his own personal health battles, but his return to the field has been one of the good news stories of the football season. Not only has he returned, but he looks like inspiring Dortmund to the title and has done so with five goals in his last three matches, the latest two of which helped him secure a score of 80 in GW 373 of Sorare. He was on the scoresheet twice in the win over Augsburg to put Dortmund one game away from a famous title win.

Haller’s breakdown of Sorare points in the game was:

  • General: 0.5
  • Defence: 0
  • Possession: 2.9
  • Attack: 7
  • Decisive: 70
